Campground

The Campground

Group Camp 3 aka "the campground" is located inside of Fontainebleau State Park. If someone is driving there, the entrance to the campground is located just over half of a mile east of the main entrance of the park on Hwy 190. If you are coming from the park entrance, you’ll turn right where the power lines cross the highway. The road from the highway to the campground itself is just over half a mile long. If you’ve been to the lodge (log cabin) in previous years, it’s the same intersection on Hwy 190; just turn right (south) instead of left (north).

The campground is about 4 acres and includes access to a pond with a fishing pier. There are 4 main structures on the campground: the kitchen, the two bunkhouses, and a separate bathhouse.

What to expect at the campground:

• Family friendly atmosphere.

• Large Dining Hall with a kitchen, refrigerator, propane stove, ice machine and freezer.

• There are no pots, pans, or cooking utensils provided in the Dining Hall

• Two bunkhouses (each with 2 bedrooms connected by a common room)

• Each bedroom has 8 metal frame bunk beds (top and bottom) with plastic mattresses.

• There is no bedding. No sheets, pillows, covers.

• Access to showers and bathrooms. 

• There are no towels in the shower.

• Hot dinner meal on Saturday night.

• Small hot breakfast on Sunday.

• Bottled water and electrolyte powder.

• Fire pit for campfire (should be usable this year)

• Plenty of firewood.

• Two multi-port USB chargers (USB-C and Apple Lightning connectors) in the Dining Hall.

• Poor cell phone service. It’s been hit or miss in the past.

• Limited access to electric outlets.
